In 2000, two university students of Antwerp needed a platform where they and other students can share their views and update the tasks. When they create this software, it was nameless. After graduation, Dries (creator of Drupal) considered the name “dorp.org”. But, while selecting domain he misspelled and “Drupal.Org” was founded.
In 2001, the software behind “drop.org” was released for all (for Free!) and Dries coined the name “Drupal.”
